Transnational project meetings in Sofia, Bulgaria

The third partner meeting took place in Sofia, Bulgaria and lasted two working days (excluding travel days). The first day of the meeting started with getting acquainted with the NGO Evrobalkani. Then the Bulgarian partner gave an overview of the Bulgarian education system, emphasizing the adult education system in Bulgaria, which aims to create opportunities for all adults who want to educate themselves. All participants in the meeting were very active in discussions and shared experiences on how adult education is organized in partner countries and expressed their thoughts on the situations that were updated.

The second part of the first day of the meeting included presentations of the project partners on piloting the developed training program in the partner countries. Partners described the course of training and what methods were used. Latvia, Sweden and Bulgaria were already held training on strategies and methods to promote adult problem solving skills, but in Italy this training had

been planned at the second part of April. Evaluating the experience of the partners, it was found that in all countries the method for promoting personality development “Values” was the most popular. It should be noted that the most popular in Italy are so-called outdoor activities, but in Sweden – any kind of practical classes, while in Latvia and Bulgaria, the teaching method still dominating in adult education is a lecture.

The afternoon session included examining various administrative issues, including the final version of the Curriculum and Methodological Materials and issues related to their publication, translation, etc. The work continued with the compilation of the experience and results of the project, the evaluation of financial flows and the planning of the final report. The focus of the partners was also on the publicity requirements of Erasmus + projects and their respect.

The next day started with a tour of Sofia with a guide. The participants of the meeting learned a lot about the history of Bulgaria and its capital. A meeting of all project partners was held in the afternoon, gathering the experience of the partners and developing recommendations for policy makers to promote problem solving skills. In the afternoon, the project partners evaluated the project implementation process as a whole, the partnership, the communication between partners, and the impact of the project on the adult educators and organizations involved in the project as a whole. Then, information on the most important parts of the final reports and the exchange of ideas on promoting and improving adult education were discussed. Following the tradition of the project, in the evening, the host organization, Evrobalkani, invited the whole group to a farewell dinner at the restaurant. It was a very nice evening with informal talks about problem solving, which is the theme of this project.
