DEALING WITH ANXIETY DURING A PANDEMIC TO ENHANCE ADULT WELL-BEING
In June, 2022, with the cooperation of four organizations – Education Innovations Transfer Centre (Latvia), NGO Estonian Institute for Open Society Research (Estonia), Center For Adult Learning Vilnius Gabriele Petkevicaite-Bite Adult Education Centre (Lithuania) and World Maritime University (Sweden), the implementation of the Nordplus Adult project NPAD-2022/10102 DEALING WITH ANXIETY DURING A PANDEMIC TO ENHANCE ADULT WELL-BEING was started with goal to contribute to the consequences of Covid-19.
The Covid-19 situation has adversely affected individual’s work-life balance, resulting in impaired emotional well-being. For more than two years, remote work, limited opportunities for socialization, home-schooling, etc. there are situations that each of us must deal with. If a person feels a possible negative outcome of the situation, he / she may experience higher levels of stress and anxiety. During emotional stress, peer support plays an important role, and the understanding and ability of a company or institution’s management to provide favourable psycho-emotional and psychosocial conditions in its team is particularly important. However, managers do not always have enough knowledge and skills to lead a team in a particularly high emotional risk condition.
Therefore, the main goal of this project was to contribute to the consequences of Covid-19 by focusing on the skills of company and institution leaders to lead a team in a particularly high emotional risk environment, where the main task is to reduce anxiety, enhance the emotional well-being of employees and insure the positive psycho emotional and psychosocial environment at the workplace.
The main result of the project: developed and piloted well thought out and easy adaptable training program for improvement competencies of companies and institutions managers to successfully manage the team, which consists of four modules:
- How to boost emotional intelligence;
- Time management;
- Stress management and relaxation techniques;
- Effective communication.
To ensure the practical inclusion of the program in the adult education agenda, prepared trainers to implement the established training program and to provide practical training for managers of companies and institutions.
Project duration: June, 2022 – October, 2023.
Total funding: 50 430 EUR.
